On Tuesday the USA women’s gymnastic team, or the “Final Five” won the team gold medal by a landslide. You would think that all Americans would be cheering on these amazing women and athletes. But that’s not the case.
One of the gymnasts, Gabby Douglas, didn’t put her hand over her heart during the medal ceremony, when the U.S. national anthem was played. This, apparently, is a HUGE slight against America, and Douglas is now being maligned severely by the right.
Douglas has now apologized for not placing her hand over her heart during the playing of the anthem. Douglas took to Twitter: “In response to a few tweets I saw tonight, I always stand at attention out of respect for our country whenever the national anthem is played,” she wrote. “I never meant any disrespect and apologize if I offended anyone. I’m so overwhelmed at what our team accomplished today and overjoyed that we were able to bring home another gold for our country.”

What do you think…was she out of line? Or was she just excited and in the moment and forget?
