Mitch McConnell endorsed Donald Trump. You could tell he didn’t want to…but as the Senate Majority Leader, he really didn’t have a choice. Time and again, we have seen McConnell rebuke the many negative things Trump has said on the campaign trail, and it’s quite obvious he would un-endorse Trump if he could.
Now, that is a real possibility.
The reason is because McConnell is in the dangerous position of losing the majority in the Senate. Many senators are in danger of losing their jobs, and it’s all because of Trump.
In addition, just look at the numbers.
Clinton is ahead in Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado. All so-called “swing states”. This is bad news, and bad news for Trump’s campaign. So McConnell has a choice to make. He can support Trump, or put his support behind the republican senators who are in danger of losing their jobs.
These senators are in SERIOUS danger of losing their respective races:
Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire
Richard Burr of North Carolina
Ron Johnson of Wisconsin
Rob Portman of Indiana
Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania
Marco Rubio of Florida
But Trump thinks he can win the presidency on his own. After all, he won the primaries on his own, right? Let’s see how that works out.
