Hillary Clinton’s campaign released a web video ad that features top Republicans pressuring Donald Trump to release his tax returns. Trump is being his normal insane self, and is still refusing to release his returns.
“Pretty much everyone agrees,” reads a caption displayed over an image of the real estate mogul signing a massive stack of tax returns at the outset of the 76-second video. “Donald Trump should release his tax returns. Even Republicans think so.”
The video, titled “Even Republicans,” includes 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz challenging Trump to disclose his tax returns.
“We will only really know if he’s a real deal or a phony if he releases his tax returns,” Romney says, later intimating that Trump either isn’t as rich as he claims, hasn’t paid the tax rate Americans would expect him to or hasn’t donated to charities like he’s said he has.
“For the last 30 or 40 years, every candidate for president has released their tax returns, and I think Donald Trump should, as well,” McConnell says.
