On Thursday night at a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, Trump said the following:
“Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing. I have done that. And believe it or not, I regret it. And I do regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues.”
Of course Trump didn’t specify which statements he regrets, which is very convenient. He couldn’t possibly regret his racist statements, because his brand new campaign ad, the first one of his campaign…is very racist.
The ad (see it below), is titled “Two Americas: Immigration,” and it will air in four battleground states…Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida. The Trump campaign spent $4.8 million on the ad buy, and it will run for the next 10 days.
The ad focuses on security, specifically immigration. It tries to contrast an America with Hillary Clinton in charge with that of Donald Trump. An announcer says, over faded images, that in Clinton’s America, “The system stays rigged against Americans. Syrian refugees flood in. Illegal immigrants convicted of committing crimes get to stay. Collecting Social Security benefits, skipping the line. Our border open. It’s more of the same, but worse.”
My favorite part (sarcasm) is the visual of the train overflowing with Mexicans presumably crossing the border into the U.S.
Trump says “Syrian refugees flood in”, when in fact, the U.S. pledged to bring in just 10,000 refugees this year, and thus far we have only brought in 13% of that goal.
And illegal immigrants do not collect social security benefits!!
These are just straight up lies and proves that Trump hasn’t changed one bit.
