Donald Trump gave a speech on Monday to the National Guard Association where he said that Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race over her “deplorables” comment, and then he flat out suggested the First Amendment should basically go away.
Regarding Clinton, Trump said, “The disdain that Hillary Clinton expressed towards millions of decent Americans disqualifies her from public service. You cannot run for President if you have such contempt in your heart for the American voter. You can’t lead this nation if you have such a low opinion of its citizens.”
Trump continued, “Hillary Clinton still hasn’t apologized to those she slandered. In fact, she hasn’t backed down at all – she’s doubled-down on her campaign of conspiracy and contempt. If Hillary Clinton will not retract her comments in full, then I don’t see how she can credibly campaign.”
Whatever, the truth hurts.
Then he made the following statement:
“We will be one people, under one God, saluting one American flag.”
Here is the First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
So basically, Trump doesn’t need things like freedom of religion or freedom of speech…but don’t take away the Second Amendment! People need their guns after all!
