I don’t like Paul Ryan, but I do like when he calls out Donald Trump.
On Thursday, House Speaker Paul Ryan said Donald Trump should make his tax returns public.
Ryan said, “I released mine,” Ryan said, referring to when he was the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in 2012. “I think he should release his. I’ll leave it to him when to do it.”
Trump has rebuffed calls to release his tax returns, citing an ongoing audit of previous years’ documents. Donald Trump Jr., the candidate’s son, suggested in an interview that his father’s tax returns, if made public, would simply be a distraction from his message. “He’s got a 12,000-page tax return that would create … financial auditors out of every person in the country asking questions that would detract from (my father’s) main message.”
