Ever since the reopening of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, more and more people are coming out to support her, even crossing party lines to do so.
Now Libertarian vice-presidential nominee Bill Weld has come out to support Hillary Clinton as well.
Weld appeared on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s show, telling the host that, “I’m here vouching for Mrs. Clinton, and I think it’s high time somebody did.”
Weld’s opinion differs from his running-mate, Gary Johnson, on the latest developments in the FBI’s probe of Clinton’s private email server.
Weld said that Clinton is “a reliable person and an honest person,” directly contradicting his campaign’s scornful statement responding to news that the feds had discovered new emails from the server. Weld’s praise, he said, came based on “my personal experience with her.”
Furthermore, he added, “I think that she deserves to have people vouch for her other than members of the Democratic National Committee.”
