The Department of Homeland Security and FBI just published a declassified report about the cyber operations at Russian intelligence agencies, in an attempt to provide much sought-after specifics about Moscow’s meddling and to help the private sector root out other Russian infiltrations.
Obama had been under fire for his delayed retaliation from both congressional Democrats and a cadre of hawkish Republicans. Many had also pushed the outgoing commander in chief to act before handing over the reins to Donald Trump, who has dismissed the government’s allegations that Russian is responsible for any of the election hacks.
Trump made the following remark when pressed by reporters after he arrived at his New Year’s Ever bash at the Mar-a-Lago resort.
“I think it’s unfair if they don’t know. And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove. So it could be someone else. And I also know things that other people don’t know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation,” Trump said.
When asked by the reporter what the president-elect knows that others do not, he said: “You’ll find out on Tuesday or Wednesday.”
So, what will we learn on Tuesday or Wednesday??
