According to Boston Globe refugees should fly to Boston in order to take advantage of a recent Massachusetts judge’s order to block the enforcement of President Trump’s executive order.
The two judges behind the order, Allison Burroughs and Magistrate Judge Judith Dein, issued it early Sunday. It requires the government to release approved refugees and individuals with valid visas from the countries named in President Trump’s executive order — Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.
Unfortunately, refugees are currently being held at several airports around the country. Becca Heller, the director of the International Refugee Assistance Project, said green card holders have been detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, as well as others. Ms. Heller’s main objective is to alert green card holders to change their plans and fly through Boston.
Let’s get the word out there to help all the refugees suffering from this unfortunate situation.
