One of the things that troubles Donald Trump the most – outside of the “Fake News” media – is leakers. In recent weeks, AG Jeff Sessions has been doing his best to crawl back into the president’s good graces after recusing himself from the Russia investigation earlier this year.
According to Axios, Sessions wants to give everyone in the National Security Council (NSC) a lie detector test to find out who the leakers are.
The AG wants to know who leaked the information concerning Trump’s controversial phone calls with other world leaders.
Sessions’ idea is to do a one-time, one-issue, polygraph test of everyone on the NSC staff. Interrogators would sit down with every single NSC staffer (there’s more than 100 of them), and ask them, individually, what they know about the leaks of transcripts of the president’s phone calls with foreign leaders. Sessions suspects those leaks came from within the NSC, and thinks that a polygraph test — at the very least — would scare them out of leaking again.
It’s hard to tell whether Sessions is putting on a charade to impress the gullible president or if he is seriously going to go through with testing the entire NSC staff.
