One of the best – if not the #1 – critics of Trump is Republican Senator John McCain. The two men are complete opposites, yet they serve the same party. McCain is a war hero, who was captured during the Vietnam War and held captive as a POW. Trump, on the other hand, is a five-time draft dodger who said that his version of the Vietnam War was dodging STDs while living a polygamous lifestyle during those years.
This week, Trump finally arrived in Vietnam, and his visit was yet another Trump failure. Trump clearly only traveled to Vietnam to meet with his boss, Russian President Vladimir Putin.
While in Vietnam, Trump was supposed to discuss human rights, but he avoided the subject altogether. Sen. McCain blasted Trump on Twitter, writing:
“@POTUS in #Danang & no mention of human rights – Sad.”
— John McCain (@SenJohnMcCain) November 11, 2017
A bipartisan group of House members sent a letter to Trump before his visit to Vietnam, urging him to address “Vietnam’s dismal human rights record.”
Trump’s excuse was:
“Well, I do. But I also raise issues on many other things. I mean, I have an obligation — we lost, last year, with China, depending on the way you do your numbers, because you can do them a [number of ways] — anywhere from $350 [billion] to $504 billion. That’s with one country. I’m going to fix that. And I’ve got to fix what we have with Mexico, who was there today too, who I also have a very good relationship with.”
The above statement only further proves that Trump cares more about money than human lives.
